Gavin Price is the Director for Europe/UK at Sports Diplomacy Alliance.. Recognized globally as a pioneer in sports diplomacy, Gavin’s expertise spans the intersection of intercultural relations, international trade, and football diplomacy. His work is particularly in the context of small nations, sub-states, regions, cities, and non-state sporting actors such as sports federations and governing bodies.
With a robust portfolio of publications, including journals, book chapters, research reports, and podcasts, Gavin has significantly contributed to the theoretical and practical aspects of sports diplomacy. He has represented and collaborated with various nations and regions such as Australia, Basque Country, Canada, Croatia, France, Fiji, Kosovo, New Zealand, Wales, Scotland, and the United States.
Gavin’s distinguished career includes presenting on sports diplomacy in Zagreb and Rijeka and being an Honorary Member of the Centre for Sports Law, Policy, and Diplomacy at the University of Rijeka. He recently facilitated a landmark football diplomacy event between the Croatian and Welsh Governments at a EURO24 qualifying game in Cardiff (Autumn 2023)..
As the creator and co-director of the World Congress on Sports Diplomacy, which debuted in Donostia-San Sebastian in the Summer of 2024, Gavin continues to lead innovative initiatives in the field.
